Yost Pool

Looks like the pool will open this summer! What an unbelievable funding raising effort done by the Save Yost Pool group. In such a short amount of time, the group raised over $54,000, half the amount needed to cover the cost of the pool operation. The Mayor has raised the user fees to cover the other half of operational expenses.

Now, let's work on the Senior Center budget cut for 2010. The South Snohomish County Senior Center provides much needed and valued service to our community. The measly $60,000 contribution from the City should not be taken away from this nonprofit organization.

If you have a chance to check out the City Council meeting of April 21st, you will see how what should have been a Yost Pool celebratory night turn into a dysfunctional disagreement with name-calling and jabs.
